Bold, authentic, and globally inspired flavors

That’s Bistecca alla Fiorentina — and wow, what an amazing trip we had as a family in Italy. From Rome to Florence, Siena to Sorrento, San Gimignano to Naples, every day was filled with history, food, and unforgettable experiences.

📍 Destinations We Visited

  • Rome – Walking through the Eternal City felt like stepping into history. From ancient ruins to vibrant piazzas, Rome never disappoints.

  • Florence – The Renaissance capital, home to art, architecture, and the iconic Statue of David by Michelangelo.

  • Siena – A medieval jewel in Tuscany, famous for its stunning Piazza del Campo and boutique shops.

  • Sorrento – Cliffside beauty with breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples, lively shops, and lemon-scented streets.

  • San Gimignano – The “Medieval Manhattan,” famous for its towers, wine, and Tuscan charm.

  • Naples – The birthplace of pizza and gateway to Pompeii, one of the most moving archeological sites in the world.

🙏 Unforgettable Experiences

  • Touring The Vatican in Rome — breathtaking art, history, and spirituality.

  • Visiting Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

  • Marveling at Michelangelo’s Statue of David in Florence.

  • Tasting wines at Tuscan wineries surrounded by rolling hills.

  • Shopping the artisan boutiques of Siena and the vibrant streets of Sorrento.

🍴 The Food Scene

Italy is all about food, and every meal felt like an event.

  • In Rome, we dined at Osteria da Pommidoro, recommended by Stanley Tucci — and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

  • One of my favorite dishes was their Bistecca alla Fiorentina (see photo below) — thick, juicy, and perfectly grilled Tuscan-style.

  • Another highlight was a pasta in the heart of Rome featuring Sicilian Red Shrimp — rich, sweet, and unforgettable.

  • And for dessert? My daughter discovered Mr. 100 Tiramisù, a cozy spot with a line out the door — and for good reason. It was the best tiramisù we’ve ever had.

❤️ Final Thoughts

From the history of Rome to the art of Florence, the medieval streets of Siena to the coastal beauty of Sorrento, and of course the food and wine at every stop — our family trip to Italy was nothing short of magical.

Italy isn’t just a place to visit — it’s a place to experience with all five senses. And for me, the memory of Bistecca alla Fiorentina will always take me right back there.
